Couples Therapy
Communication, Repair & Secure Attachment
You Love Each Other. You're Still Stuck.
Maybe the same argument keeps resurfacing in slightly different clothing. Maybe one of you avoids while the other pursues. Maybe something happened — an affair, a betrayal, a forgetting— and you don't know how to find your way back to each other. Couples therapy isn't about assigning blame. It's about learning to see the pattern you're both caught in, so you can build something different together.
How I Work With Couples
My approach draws on Gottman Method research on communication and conflict, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which centers on attachment and emotional safety between partners. In practice, that means we work on three connected layers:
Communication — replacing criticism, defensiveness, and shutdown with the kind of direct, honest exchange that actually gets heard
Repair — rebuilding trust and safety after conflict, betrayal, or long-standing rupture, so old wounds stop resurfacing in new arguments
Secure attachment — moving from reactive, protective patterns toward a bond where both partners feel safe being fully known
This work is grounded in taking personal responsibility in service to the relationship — not "who's right," but what each of you can bring to actually change the pattern.
I offer telehealth therapy throughout California. Ketamine-assisted couple’s therapy is available in person, in your home, with your partner. One day couple’s retreats available in Oregon.
